Youth Ministry was established as a priority in the Diocese of St. Catharines in 1995. Since its beginning Youth Ministry has grown to provide support services for parishes.

Training: Ongoing support for parish teams and individuals working with youth at the parish level is provided through a series of practical sessions.

Specialty Workshops: These are initiated at the request of pastors, youth coordinators or young people. Some examples are:

  • Retreat Planning
  • Social Justice
  • Vacation Bible School
  • Fundraising
  • Development & Peace

Leadership Training: Young people, ages 12-17, who wish to work with children and other young people at the parish level are provided an opportunity to learn and develop practical skills.

Parish Youth Coordinators’ Retreat: This is an annual opportunity for coordinators to come together to nourish the soul, re-energize and support their own spirituality.

Young & Catholic: A Gathering of Young Adults. This monthly session is open to all young adults +18. Topics will vary and are often determined by request from participants.

Special Events: The Diocesan Youth Ministry Office will from time to time organize and sponsor special events which include: Youth Rallies, special evenings of prayer and World Youth Day activities
